More Guate Cine at Bagel Barn
The Bagel Barn is once again hosting a free showing of Guatemalan film today. Las Cruces (Rafael Rosal 2006), which has been nominated for Best Picture twice (El Ojo Cojo Madrid International Film Festival 2006, Union Latina 2006 Madrid) is scheduled to begin at 7 pm.
In the 1980s as Guatemala’s civil war was at its worst, Las Cruces was a humble farmers’ village at the base of a beautiful volcano. Nestled deep within the country’s wilderness, it was the target of a brutal military attack led by an elite corps of government troops. Las Cruces is an incredible tale of war and death, unknown to all but to those who were there and lived through it. In this film, two of the survivors shed light on the horror that took place that fateful night.

En mi opinion no fue muy buena la produccion…creo que les hizo falta mucha investigacion… lastima porque Casa Comal tiene los recursos para hacer muy buenas producciones y se quedan cortos…mal casting tambien…
